After picking up the Business Platinum Card by American Express last year, I was excited to finally have a premium card in my wallet. But this year I easily let it go. Here’s why:
American Express is making changes to both their personal Platinum and Business Platinum cards. Overall, things are mostly positive. The one big negative is the $100 hike to the annual fee on the person Platinum Card. It will be a whopping $550. The question is: are the Amex Platinum benefits worth this increased fee?

As in everything in life, annual fees are a choice. Sign up for fee-free cards? Sure! Sign up for cards with fees, and shell out a bunch of money? Sur – wait a minute, that doesn’t sound like much fun. Let’s get rid of some of those fees!
