Recently I was transiting New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and finally had the opportunity to visit The Chase Sapphire Lounge LGA, which is a Priority Pass LGA airport lounge, though access comes with a bit of a twist.

Chase Sapphire Lounge LaGuardia airport lounge access and entry requirements

The Chase Sapphire Lounge LGA is a Priority Pass lounge, but there is a twist. If you have a Priority Pass membership from the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, you have unlimited complimentary access, and can bring in two guests for free. If you have a Priority Pass membership from any other credit card, you are only eligible for one visit each calendar year (across all Chase Sapphire Lounge locations). Any visits after that will cost $75, and if you don’t have any Priority Pass membership, you can purchase a visit outright for $100 / person.

Priority Pass LaGuardia / Chase Sapphire Lounge LGA airport lounge location

The Chase Sapphire Lounge LaGuardia is located in Terminal B, airside in the central area of the terminal. I had come in from Boston on American Airlines in the Eastern Concourse area, so I followed the signs for Ground Transportation, across the bridge (but still airside)

In the main central area of Terminal B, it is easy to spot the Sapphire Lounge area. When I was there, there was a short waitlist of about 10 minutes.

Once I got a text that it was my turn, you go down a hallway and then down the elevator to Level 1 and enter into the lounge.

The Chase Sapphire Lounge LGA airport lounge is open from from 4:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m. daily local time. If you have a flight outside those hours, you unfortunately will not be able to use The Chase Sapphire Lounge LGA lounge. You are in theory limited to using it only 3 hours before your flight, though if you have a longer connection you can use it during your connection. I was told when I checked in that it was a departure only lounge – when I presented my arrival boarding pass, they would not let me in until I showed them my departing boarding pass.

The Chase Sapphire Lounge New York LaGuardia airport lounge seating

The Chase Sapphire Lounge LGA is just over 21,000 square feet, which is fairly large, as far as domestic airport lounges go. This makes it about twice as big as the Chase Sapphire Lounge Boston. Here are a few pictures of some of the seating – I appreciated that they had several different configurations of seating, allowing people to choose different options depending on whether they are traveling with a group or not.

Although it is on the lower level of the airport and therefore has no outside windows or ambient lighting, I appreciated how they attempted to make the lounge airy and well lit. There is also a small 2nd story of the lounge with additional seating.

There was plenty of open seating while I was there, though when I left (around 5:30pm on a Monday), it was a bit more crowded.

One complaint that I had was that it felt a little difficult to find seating options with power outlets. It felt like for such a modern (i.e. new) lounge, that this should be something obvious – power outlets at every seat! But I had a hard time finding a place to charge my laptop. I should point out that when I asked a lounge attendant about that, he did bring over a mobile power charging station, but that only had USB outlets (to charge a phone). Eventually I did find an open spot to charge my laptop, but I had to move. It just felt strange that there wouldn’t be outlets at every seat.

New York LaGuardia Airport Lounge / Chase Sapphire Lounge Review: food

This LaGuardia Airport (LGA) lounge had a wide array of different food options. One thing that was nice was instead of a traditional The Club lounge with a buffet, they had individual portions that you could collect on a tray. This is similar to how it works at the Capital One Venture lounge in Dallas. There was a wide array of different kinds of foods.

Ordering Food at the Chase Sapphire Lounge

I thought that the food that was already out was quite good, but one thing that I had previously learned from my trip to the Sapphire Lounge in Boston is that you can also order additional (IMO better) food from the QR code that is available at each seat. There were a variety of different options to choose from – I went with the burger and fries

as well as a ham and gruyere cheese sandwich with chips.

These were both delivered to my table within about 10-15 minutes, and were both excellent .

The Chase Sapphire Lounge LaGuardia airport lounge wifi and amenities

The Chase Sapphire Lounge New York LaGuardia wifi was quite fast and I had no trouble connecting to it or doing anything I needed to do. Unfortunately I did not grab a screenshot of the wifi speed, but I imagine most people will not have any trouble.

There is also a small kids play area at the Chase Sapphire Lounge LGA, which was being used while I was there so I did not take a picture. The restrooms are located down a long hall (again, similar to the Capital One lounge in Dallas).

Upstairs you can make appointments for the shower rooms as well as complimentary spa treatment. Unfortunately, I had a fairly short window of time here so I didn’t get a chance to view these rooms.

The Bottom Line

In any case, I rate the The Chase Sapphire Lounge LaGuardia by The Club quite good and I would definitely recommend it if you are departing New York LaGuardia airport. My Priority Pass membership is through another card, so this was my one visit this calendar year. If I regularly traveled through LGA , I would definitely consider swapping over to get the Chase Sapphire Reserve
