Munich’s Oktoberfest, held every fall, is known worldwide as a celebration of beer, food, and music. But did you know that every spring the city also hosts Frühlingsfest (Springfest), a hugely popular jubilee that’s a little easier to experience and cheaper to get to? This year the dates are April 26th – May 12th, and IcelandAir wants to get you there for less. Currently they are offering fares ~$200 cheaper than their already discounted prices from several US cities.  Departure cities include:

  • Boston from $433
  • Denver from $499
  • Chicago from $517

These are “Economy Light” fares on the carrier, which include seat selection and a carry-on but no meals. Bringing food from the airport into the plane will cost less than buying up to a fare with free meals, of course, so this is a good deal during these dates. Prices for European flights are slowly rising as we head towards high season, so here’s an opportunity for a fantastic getaway to Germany this spring!
