Through April 1st, earn a 15% bonus when transferring Membership Rewards to Avianca LifeMiles. Avianca miles are a great currency for intra-region Star Alliance flights, especially throughout North and South America.
American Express partnered with Avianca LifeMiles in November of last year. As of today, Membership Rewards can be transferred to 22 airline partners, including JetBlue, Virgin Atlantic, and Aer Lingus. Citi ThankYou Points and Capital One Miles are also transferrable to Avianca, so we have plenty of options to put our hard-earned points to work.
Before you transfer though, know this: a 15% bonus isn’t that good. If you know you’ve got a LifeMiles redemption coming up, go for it, but I bet there will be better offers in the future. It’s not uncommon for us to see transfer bonuses of up to 20% or even 50% depending on the program. If you do want to transfer, keep reading!
