Through August 29, Citi is offering 30% transfer bonus from ThankYou Points to Flying Blue, the frequent flyer program for Air France and KLM.  This means, you can fly to Europe for just 9,230 points, or to Hawaii for less than 13,500 points!

Fly to Europe for just 9,230 points

Flying Blue just released last week its monthly Promo Award, where flights from Washington DC or Houston to Europe are 50% off. But you must book between July 1 and July 30, 2018 on Air France or KLM website, and travel between August 31, 2018 and October 30, 2018.

I found one-way flights from Washington D.C. to Brussels connecting through Amsterdam is just 12,000 miles plus $81.46 for taxes and fees. With the 30% transfer bonus from Citi ThankYou points, the flight would cost just 9,230 points plus the taxes and fees.

Fly Delta for less miles, including 13,500 points to Hawaii

You can use Flying Blue miles to book flights on Delta. Even though Flying Blue does not have access to all Delta flights, for the flights that do show up in the search, it usually cost less miles than what Delta charges. And with this 30% transfer bonus, it means even fewer miles than normal!

To give you an example, Delta charges 29,000 Skymiles for its nonstop flight from Los Angeles to Maui on May 8, 2019.

But Flying Blue only charges 17,500 miles for the same flight! And with the 30% bonus, this same flight would cost just 13,462 ThankYou points!

Conclusion

This 30% transfer bonus from ThankYou Points offers a lot of opportunities to travel on Delta, Air France, and KLM for a lot less points or miles. You just need to spend the time to search for where you want to travel. Are you planning to take advantage of this transfer bonus?
