This is a promotion that comes and goes with most of the major bank point programs, and it’s back again with Citi ThankYou points. There is now a deal that you can save $15 off a purchase of $100 at Amazon when you use at least 1 ThankYou point. (affiliate link here and all other Amazon links).

How to get $15 off at Amazon when paying with at least 1 ThankYou point
First of all, you need to activate the offer. I saw the offer as an ad when browsing on Amazon, but there is a promotion page that you can check out as well
It probably goes without saying to smart people like you, but generally speaking, it is not a good value to use your Amex, Chase or Citi points at Amazon. Simply pay with a ThankYou point eligible card and add just 1 ThankYou point.

You can see the full terms and conditions on the promotion page but the basic idea is
- This promotion starts at 12:00am PST on August 1, 2019 and ends on the earlier of (i) at 11:59pm PST on 12/31/2019, or (ii) when 31,096 offers have been redeemed, or (iii) when Amazon elects to end the promotion.
- Offer is available by invitation only, is non-transferable, is not redeemable for cash, and may not be resold.Amazon reserves the right to modify or cancel this offer at any time.
- Offer only applies to products sold by Amazon.com (Look for “sold by Amazon.com” or “sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC” on the product detail page). Products sold by third-party sellers or other Amazon entities will not qualify for this offer, even if “fulfilled by Amazon.com” or “Prime Eligible”.
- Offer applies only to the purchase of items made with an eligible Citi Card, where ThankYou Points are used for at least a portion of the purchase and the promotion code is activated. When you click on the ‘Click to activate’ button your Citi ThankYou Points will be temporarily set as default payment method at checkout for a duration of six hours, unless you manually update your payment option. The promotion remains valid even after the temporary default setting lapses, until the end of the promotion period.
- The maximum benefit you may receive from this offer is $15.
