So I know that I’m not the only one that signed up for the US Bank FlexPerks card when it had the increased bonus for the recent Summer Olympics

With a rash of gold medals in the last day or two, the final USA medal count was 46 golds, 37 silvers and 38 bronzes.  Doing the math leads to a 14,800 FlexPoint bonus (in addition to the 20,000 FlexPoints you’ll get by signing up and spending at least $2,000 in the first 4 months.

Getting the full 34,800 Flexperks

I originally thought that you would get the whole 34,800 FlexPerks by meeting the spending requirements, which are $2000 in the first 4 months of the card.

But if you look at the fine print on the promotional image above, you’ll see that it says

Apply for a new U.S. Bank FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa Card between 8/1/2016 and 9/3/2016, then, upon approval, make a purchase with your new card by 9/30/2016 – and you could earn Bonus FlexPoints for every medal Team USA wins at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, courtesy of Visa!

So in order to get the bonus 14,800 FlexPoints, you need to make a purchase on your card by September 30th (this Friday).  The other 20,000 points will come after spending

So make sure and make at least one purchase on your card by Friday!  (Really you want to make it by Thursday or earlier since sometimes it takes a day or two for purchases to post

Was I the only one who almost missed this?
