Living in New York City, jetBlue is one of my go-to airlines. While JFK is a hike from my apartment, they often have very reasonable prices and I can usually get a non-stop flight. Because of this, I signed up for the jetBlue Plus card last year with a 30,000 bonus point offer, and for quite a while, it became my “front of wallet” card. Recently, I learned of an even better offer (h/t Doctor of Credit), for double to points I received!

Increased Offer

For a limited time (unknown amount of time, actually), you can get 60,000 bonus TrueBlue points after you spend $1,000 in Net Purchases on your Account within ninety (90) days of Account opening and your annual fee has been paid. This one-time bonus points offer is valid for first-time cardmembers with new accounts only. You can access the application landing page here (we do not earn commission on your successful application). Note the $99 annual fee is NOT waived in the first year.

Card Benefits

With the jetBlue Plus card, you’ll earn:

  • 6 points per dollar on jetBlue purchases
  • 2 points per dollar at restaurants and grocery stores
  • 1 point per dollar everywhere else

You’ll also earn 5,000 points a year when you pay your annual fee ($99). Additionally, you’ll get these perks:

  • Free checked bag
  • 10% of your points back when you make an award redemption
  • Mosaic status when you spend $50,000 or more on your card in a year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • $100 statement credit after you purchase a Getaways vacation package with your card
  • 50% savings on eligible inflight purchases including cocktails, food and movies

Should you apply?

jetBlue points are worth ~1.2 cents per point, which means 60,000 points should net your roughly ~$700 in jetBlue airfare. If you fly jetBlue regularly, or live near a jetBlue hub (New York-JFK, Boston, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, or Long Beach, CA), this could be a good card for you. As always, don’t sign up for a credit card because some guy on the internet told you to–make sure it’s the right fit for you!
