Today I wanted to talk a bit about the Pleatpack – which bills itself as the most functional urban tech backpack.
It was on Kickstarter but I thought I would rerun the post as it has now has transitioned to Indiegogo. All Kickstarter / Indiegogo links in this post may pay me a commission if you boost the project through my link.
Pleatpack Urban Tech backpack features
The Pleatpack was built to solve the problem of combining a small day pack with a backpack large enough to carry everything you need. The main compartment is on an accordion so that it can pull out.
Here are a few pictures of the Pleatpack Urban Tech backpack.

Looks cool. But like camera bags (never a perfect camera bag), there is never a “perfect backpack”. I have several backpacks. One for just heading into the city (NYC) with personal stuff /laptop. Then another one for similar stuff but more professional / low key looking ( no multiple buckles/straps/zippers etc.). Then I have another for photo gear + laptop + personal. All are black. For this new design I would add a pen holder on the front of the shoulder straps & maybe a sunglass holder/clip to the same area.
Would like more specifics on the anti theft features—material? Mesh? Slashproof? Locking zippers? Other features similar to what Pacsafe has? Thanks
