Introduced earlier this week was a new targeted United promo.  Similar to the IHG Accelerate offers that come out periodically, each promotion is targeted to a specific user and requires you to login. I’ve seen offers as high as 12,000 bonus miles for booking one flight and a few other offers that looked good.  They ran this promotion back in March and I got nothing then. This time, I did get an offer

My wife …. and my son… and my other son… all got nothin :-). I guess United doesn’t love us too much all…

Mine might be worth doing (but probably not). Minimum fare in the terms and conditions is $225. If I found an Economy Plus flight for $225, that would earn about 10,000 miles, meaning I’d be paying about 2.25 cents per point, which would not be a deal. The only way I’d see this might make sense would be if it were a trip that I already had to take and United’s fare was competitive with other options.

(H/T: Milenerd)

What about you?  Were you targeted for anything good?  Leave a note in the comments
