If you’ve read about the Southwest Airlines California Millions giveaway but don’t live in California, you might be feeling left out. No need to worry! Southwest still wants to spread a little LUV to the rest of us.
How to Enter
Entry into this contest is super quick and easy. All you need to do is visit this website, fill out your information, and click submit. You do need to be 18 or older, a resident of the contiguous United States and the District of Columbia (California residents ARE excluded from this one), and have a valid Rapid Rewards account at the time of entry.
The sweepstakes will run between March 12, 2018 and April 10, 2018 at 11:59:59 Central Time. Click here to read the full terms and conditions.
What You Will Win
If you happen to be the one lucky winner, you will be awarded 100,000 Rapid Rewards points! Southwest will do a random drawing to pick the winner on, or around April 23, 2018.
If you aren’t familiar with Rapid Rewards redemption, it’s all revenue based so you will get the most out of your winnings if you can find inexpensive flights. If you find the right flights, with 100,000 Rapid Rewards points, you could get:
- 9 one way flights between New York (LGA) and Los Angeles (LAX)
- 12 one way flights between Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) and San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO)
- 13 one way flights between Chicago (MDW) and Seattle (SEA)
- 48 one way flights between Washington DC (DCA) and Orlando (MCO)
- 63 one way flights between Las Vegas (LAS) and Los Angeles (LAX)
The possibilities really are endless. One thing to note, on points reservations, you are still have to pay any taxes and fees. On domestic flights, those will run you $5.60 each way but international flights vary a lot more. Using the FLL to SJO flights for an example, the taxes and fees would run close to $75 for a single round trip ticket.
It would be nice to participate in the California Millions giveaway, but luckily the rest of us aren’t totally left out. The entry form takes a few seconds to fill out so you might as well take a minute to do it. Or maybe don’t so my odds of winning are better. *wink wink*
What would you do with 100,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points?
