We all need a break when it comes to paying at the pump. Some have a favorite gas station. Others fill up their tanks out of convenience by finding the nearest available station. And there are those who will go to the station that offers the lowest price per gallon. It is good to have options, and if there is an option to save a little bit here and there, why not? While the gas prices vary all over the nation, shown below are the states with highest average gasoline prices per gallon, according to Gas Buddy:

How do you qualify
According to Fuel Rewards, these are the things you have to do in order to quality for this program:
- You must be a Chase customer,
- Be a Fuel Rewards member
- Swipe your Fuel Rewards card or enter your Alt ID when you fuel at a participating Shell station
- With extended Gold Status, you will receive 5¢/gal in Fuel Rewards savings on every fill-up.
- To qualify for extended Gold Status through 12/31/2018, you must register either as a new Fuel Rewards member or log in with your existing Fuel Rewards member information at fuelrewards.com/chasefreedom between 12/15/2017 and 6/30/2018.

Savings with your everyday purchases
All in all, I think this gives Chase customers another reason to use their Chase Freedom this quarter for the 5% cash back. Plus, those enrolled in Fuel Rewards who use their Freedom and Freedom Unlimited cards who go to Shell gas station can take advantage of more savings. Every little savings count.
