A few months ago, I wrote about an opportunity to get a 50% bonus on transferring Starwood SPG Points to American Airlines.  Normally if you transfer 20,000 SPG points to an airline, you are given a 25% bonus, so 20,000 SPG points turns into 25,000 airline miles.  Starwood is not only a hotel chain but also offers 1:1 transfers to many airlines such as American, Delta, and many more.

For the duration of this promotion, American Airlines is giving an ADDITIONAL 5,000 miles for each 20,000 SPG points transferred, so 20,000 SPG points becomes 30,000 American AAdvantage airline miles (a 50% bonus)

SPG Bonus mile promotion time extended

I wrote earlier this week that the promotion was ending yesterday, but I’ve since learned that the deadline has been extended to August 31st.  So you do have a little bit of extra time.

So if you thought you missed the opportunity to get an extra 25% bonus for transferring SPG points to American Airlines, you’ve still got a few more weeks!

You can read the full details of the promotion at the official promotion page.
