Every now and then we’d see a Groupon offer featuring Starbucks. Some of them are public offers, some are targeted or invite only. My wife got this targeted offer sent to her email directly;

I checked my email. None for me. Naturally, my wife bought the gift card last night and as expected, the transaction was quite smooth.

It does look like it’s available on the Groupon site directly – see also $5 for $10 E-Gift Card at StarbucksInvalid request error occurred.., though some users are reporting that they were not targeted. That link is an affiliate link; keep in mind you can also go through a shopping portal (see below)

Make the deal sweeter without adding sugar

  • Use your points-earning or miles-earning credit card when making the purchase.
    • Earn 5x via your Chase Ink that earn 5x from office supply stores. You can buy your gift cards online at Staples or you can go to a Staples store directly (YMMV).
  • Don’t forget to check cash back portals. Here are a couple of examples:
    • Ebates  – she was able to get 8% cash back when she bought from Groupon. Don’t have Ebates? Here’s a referral link on how to get started earning with Ebates.

    • MRrebates is also offering cash back – 6%

These are just a few ways to stretch your savings when buying this Groupon from Starbucks. One last tip, check you SPAM folder, you never know, you might have been targeted and just didn’t know it. Let me know if you got this offer. You could be on your way to Starbucks soon having a hot cup of java. Cheers!
