I read a report this morning that Etihad is offering a 25% transfer bonus on transfers into Etihad Guest Miles). Unlike last month’s transfer bonus from American Express Membership Rewards to Etihad Guest Miles, this transfer bonus is on the Etihad side. You’ll get a 25% bonus transferring from a number of different programs, but the only one that really makes sense is transfers from Citi ThankYou points.
This transfer is good through July 31st.
Benefits of Etihad Guest Miles
If you’re a beginner, you might not think that Etihad Guest Miles are that valuable, but remember, even if you’re not actually flying ON Etihad. Etihad Guest Miles offer a number of good partners.
- While you can no longer get insane value flying first class on ANA, you can still find some amazing value on Brussels Airlines. You have to book a roundtrip, but BRU-JFK roundtrip is only 22,000 in economy and 36,000 miles in BUSINESS!
- Royal Air Maroc can fly you from JFK to Casablanca Morocco for only 44,000 miles roundtrip in business. (22,000 in economy)
- Etihad is also a partner with American Airlines, and you can still book some awards at the “old” American price (20K off peak to Europe for example)
Remember all those prices are 25% off through July 31st). Good luck and happy booking!

Your statement of 25% off is incorrect. There is a 25% bonus given to the miles/points transferred into Ethiad. Working the math backward it is only 20% off the Ethiad miles required fro those flights. For example: the 44,000 business class miles required in your post would require 35,200 citi miles for a reduction of 8800 miles. So 8800 miles is only 20% off from 44,000.
It is a common error.
true that
You’re right of course. I blame the early morning 🙂
Are you sure Royal Maroc is 44k roundtrip in business and 22k in economy? http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/01/23/redeem-miles-royal-air-maroc/
Also Richard Kerr’s recent blog post about Etihad partners listed this deal as one way.
The Brussels deal is excellent, however.
