I saw an amazing video today on Facebook. If you’re already following me on Facebook, you may have already seen it, but for the rest of you, check this out
Isn’t it crazy to watch?!?! My son said that he thought that the airplanes going in a holding pattern made the passengers dizzy 🙂
I can’t decide which is my favorite part – watching all the dots (airplanes) going in the approach patterns from different directions, or maybe the holding patterns / circles that they have to do when their path to the airport is blocked.
What do you think?

Gotta be when the wind switches and they go to east flow. I’d like to see that at a slower time lapse rate.
Yeah…..I wasn’t so lucky when I was on a plane that made two of those little loops years ago. Had to spend the night on the floor at Hartsfield-Jackson airport.
Back in the day of working and travelling, there was a time I was flying in and out of ATL like clockwork. Half of those flights were coming from a small feeder airport where I would be on the small prop jets. I have never upchucked on a plane, but a couple of those prop jets in thunderstorms were pushing the limit. Once, the plane was all over the place, up, down, sideways, angled badly, and shuttering significantly. All of a sudden, it was full power going upward and plane shuttering. Pilot finally comes over with shaky voice saying he would just go out and circle until the weather improved. I don’t miss those days.
I’ve seen a lot of flight info, but that was really amazing.
