I always say that it’s important to get your miles and points from several sources.  While most of my miles come from credit card signup bonuses, another potentially lucrative source of miles is making your online purchases through shopping portals

I wrote last week about 2 promotions offering 3500 bonus miles through the Southwest and American Airlines shopping portals, as well as 4000 bonus miles for shopping through the United portal.  This is in ADDITION to the miles that you will get for just making the purchases.

Today we learn about 1500 miles through the DELTA SkyMiles shopping portal

This shopping deal isn’t as good as some in the past, including one where I have gotten 19x or even 29x miles on my shopping purchases.   But don’t forget, even with the recent Delta Skymiles devaluation and changes, there are still some Delta flights as low as 5000 Skymiles one-way.

Here’s the skinny:

  • 300 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at least $100
  • 700 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at least $300
  • 1,500 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of $700 or more

The promotion runs through August 16th, and miles will be awarded 8-10 weeks after purchases.

I feel like there is a Delta Skymiles joke in there somewhere – since Southwest and American are offering 3500 bonus miles, and United is offering 4000, while Delta only offers 1500, but I can’t QUITE find the punchline.  Got one?  Leave me a note in the comments
