I recently flew business class on the American Airlines Airbus 321 LAX-BOS flight from Los Angeles to Boston. This American Airlines transcontinental business class review will talk about seats, food, amenities and so on. I had booked this flight (along with a connecting flight from Boston to Cincinnati) for 30,000 Alaska Airlines miles.

American Airlines Business Lounge Access and American Airlines Boarding Process
American Airlines passengers flying in Flagship Business class have access to the Los Angeles / LAX American Airlines Flagship Lounge. We got to the airport a few hours before our flight and spent some time relaxing and eating there before our flight.
A few minutes before boarding, we left the Flagship Lounge and walked to our gate. We were flying out of gate 54A, which is conveniently right next door to the Flagship Lounge. There was a bit of a delay in boarding, but we soon boarded and made our way onto the plane.
American Airlines Airbus A321 Transcontinental Business Class Seats Los Angeles to Boston
I had selected seat 7C for me, which is a forward facing aisle seat on the left side of the plane. With a 2-2 configuration, most of the window seats require you to step over someone to access the aisle. This wasn’t a huge problem for me as I was traveling with my son (in 7A), but it’s something to consider if you are traveling alone.
After my meal (see below), I put the seat in its lie-flat configuration and went to sleep. Although sometimes I have trouble sleeping on planes, I had no trouble on this flight – I went right to sleep and slept all the way until the pilot made a (loud) announcement that we were about to land.
American Airlines Airbus A321 Business Class Entertainment
There is a large screen at your seat showing a variety of different entertainment. The entertainment had a pretty wide selection of movies, TV shows and other entertainment.
Because it was a redeye, I didn’t actually end up watching any of the shows on the entertainment system.
American Airlines Airbus A321 Business Class Review – Amenities
At our seat was an amenity kit
It had a standard array of toiletries as well as a sleep mask, face covering earplugs.
There was also a headset from Bang & Olufsen. Though I did not use it on this flight, I have used these headsets on other American Airlines business class flights and found them to be comfortable.

There was Wi-Fi available for purchase, but because it was a redeye flight, I slept for nearly the entire flight and did not use it.
American Airlines Airbus A321 Flagship Business Class Menu
Before I get to a review of the food on my American Airlines Transcontinental Flagship Business Class flight, here are shots of the menu that was presented onboard.
American Airlines Airbus A321 Business Class LHR-CVG Food
The meal service started off with a pre-departure beverage – I had the orange juice.
First, the flight attendants came by with a warm towel and a selection of nuts.
Dinner was served shortly after take off. My son had the grilled chicken
I had the beef filet, which was excellent.
Dessert was next – I had the ice cream sundae, which is always a fun treat
According to the menu, there are snacks that are offered as we approached Boston, but I must have slept through it as by the time I woke up, they were no longer offering anything. I’m sure I could have asked for something, but I wasn’t really hungry. The American Airlines LAX-BOS Business Class food was okay, though it was nothing amazing – if you wanted to just get on the plane and sleep, I’m sure that would be fine too.
The Bottom Line – American Airlines Airbus A321 Flagship Business Class Review Los Angeles to Boston
My American Airlines Airbus A321 Transcontinental Flagship Business Class review is that it was a solid option, with a comfortable lie-flat seat and excellent food. The 2-2 configuration is not ideal if you’re traveling alone, though it wasn’t a big deal if you’re traveling with someone, as I was. Not having direct aisle access (or being on the aisle without any sort of divider), is not great.Â
If you have the chance to fly American Airlines Transcontinental Flagship Business Class on the Airbus A321, it’s definitely a great way to take a redeye across the country!
