Earn 140,000 Bonus Points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. Plus, earn 35,000 Bonus Points after spending a total of $7,000 in the first 6 months from account opening. $99 annual fee

We talk a lot about credit cards and welcome offers here, because that is one of the best ways to get a lot of points quickly. It’s too hard to get any appreciable amount of points when you only earn them 1 or 2 per dollar, unless you have a LOT of spending. We just did a rundown of the 3 different IHG cards a little bit ago, and already IHG has made that a bit obsolete.

IHG Rewards Premier Business Credit Card – Up To 175,000 Bonus Miles

IHG has just changed the offer so that you can earn up to 175,000 bonus miles. You’ll get 140,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months and an additional 35,000 points after spending $7,000 in the first 6 months.

IHG points aren’t as valuable as some other types of miles and points, but if you figure a value of 0.5 to 0.7 cents per point, that still means this signup bonus is worth quite a bit. And that’s not even including the fact that you’ll get up to $100 towards TSA Precheck or Global Entry, 4th night free when redeeming awards, IHG Platinum status and a free night certificate each year on your anniversary among other benefits.

IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card Review – Earning and Benefits

The IHG Premier Business credit card is IHG’s business credit card, and you will need to have a business to apply for this card. However, you may have a business even if you don’t think you have a business. I have the IHG Premier card which is similar, and it’s one of the few credit cards that I will pay the annual fee on. The big reason is the annual free night certificates that come with the card. Yes, you’re limited to 40,000 points now, but you can still get outstanding value. I have used mine at the Holiday Inn Resort in Jamaica to good success (review below and picture above).

Which IHG card is the best?

As I mentioned in the comparison post, there are currently 3 IHG credit cards – the IHG Premier Business (that’s we’re talking about here), the IHG Premier and the no-fee IHG Traveler. Both the IHG Premier card and the IHG Premier Business card offer a free night on your card anniversary and the IHG Traveler card does not currently offer a free night certificate. All 3 cards offer the 4th night free on award stays.

If you don’t have any IHG credit card right now, my recommendation would be to get the IHG Premier card. It has a great welcome bonus and the annual free night certificate is (for me) easily worth the $99 annual fee. If you already have that card, then consider the IHG Premier Business credit card. If you don’t feel comfortable applying for a business credit card and you don’t want to pay the fee of the IHG Premier credit card, then you might consider the no-fee IHG Traveler credit card, though IMO it’s barely worth a 5/24 slot (if at all). The terms of the Premier and Traveler card both say that you can’t get the card if you have the other.

As always, don’t apply for a credit card just because some guy on the internet said you should, but if you are planning on applying and would like to support the site, we appreciate it.
