KEY LINK: Chase Sapphire Reserve card – welcome offer of 80,000 Ultimate Rewards after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months (expires 11/30)

I’ve often said that one of the best ways to get a lot of miles and points is through the welcome bonus that is offered by signing up for new credit cards. And since it is generally difficult-to-impossible to get multiple bonuses on most cards, you want to make sure and maximize the points you get from your welcome offers. Right now the Chase Sapphire Reserve card has  a welcome offer of 80,000 Ultimate Rewards after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months, and it is my understanding that this will end tomorrow, on Wednesday November 30th. So if you’ve had your eye on getting this card with an elevated bonus, you might want to act soon.

Chase Sapphire Reserve 80,000 point offer

The Chase Sapphire Reserve 80,000 point offer is for 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months of having the card. This is the highest offer we’ve seen since the initial 100,000 point offers that were on the card when it first came out back in 2016. Most recently it’s been at 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points. It is my understanding that the current offer is set to expire next week, on November 30th.

The 80,000 Ultimate Rewards is worth $1,200 if you use your Ultimate Rewards for 1.5 cents per point through the Ultimate Rewards travel portal, and possibly even more if you make judicious use of Chase’s hotel and airline transfer partners.

5 Reasons to get the Chase Sapphire Reserve

There are a number of good reasons to get the Chase Sapphire Reserve card – here are a few:

  • Outstanding signup bonus – as I mentioned, the 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points are worth at least $1,200
  • Making your other Ultimate Rewards more valuable – if you have a stash of Ultimate Rewards from other Chase cards, having the Sapphire Reserve makes them more valuable since you can get the 50% bonus on all your Ultimate Rewards
  • Airport lounge access and priority screening – Priority Pass lounge access and Global Entry reimbursement are nice if you don’t have them from other credit cards
  • $300 travel credit – Although it does come with a $550 annual fee, which is a lot, you do get $300 back as a travel credit, and Chase’s travel credit is one of the easiest ones to earn.
  • Primary Car Rental Coverage – very nice when renting a car for the added peace of mind

Who’s Eligible for the Chase Sapphire Reserve 80,000 point offer?

The Chase Sapphire Reserve requires excellent credit income, which makes sense since it’s an ultra-premium Visa Infinite credit card. But in addition to that:

  • You’ll need to be under Chase 5/24
  • You can’t currently hold ANY Chase Sapphire card (Preferred or Reserve)
  • Previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months

I had the Chase Sapphire Reserve awhile back but got it as a product change so I have not actually gotten the bonus on the Sapphire Reserve, so I am considering this offer.

The Bottom Line

Again, you can find the link for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card on our top credit card offers page. The current offer is for 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months of having the card, which is higher than it has been most recently. That’s worth $1,200 if you use your Ultimate Rewards for 1.5 cents per point through the Ultimate Rewards travel portal, and possibly even more if you make judicious use of Chase’s hotel and airline transfer partners. As always, don’t just sign up for a credit card because some guy on the Internet said you should, but if you do sign up through my link, I appreciate the support!

Good luck and happy travels!
