In 2026, while on a trip to the Maritime Provinces of Canada, my wife and I stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlottetown. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlottetown is located at 200 Capital Drive Charlottetown, PE C1E 2E8 Canada.
There was a small seating area in the lobby.

I normally don’t talk much about the check in process, since it’s usually fairly unremarkable, but there are 2 things I wanted to mention here. First of all, when we checked in, they gave us a playing card. And then said that if we came down the next morning and the card shown in the lobby was the same number as our card, we would win a prize.
The card on display was an Ace when we checked in, and a different Ace on the day we checked out, so we did not win anything. I guess you have a 1 in 13 chance to win the prize? I asked what the prize was, and they said they thought it was 1000 points. Which is worth like $5 so not that much 😀
They also had kid activity sheets available at the front desk. We were not traveling with our kids so we did not take any.

We were looking for a cheap Charlottetown Prince Edward Island hotel, but didn’t want to stay in the absolute cheapest hotel out there. I was there for 1 night, and I used a free night certificate, similar to what we did at the Holiday Inn Express Halifax Airport

We booked a 1 king room, and that is what we got.. The beds and pillows were comfortable enough.
On the other side of the living room is a TV and desk.
There is also a microwave and minifridge.

On the right of the hallway is the bathroom, which was small but functional. The shower had good temperature and pressure.

Wifi is complimentary in the lobby and in the guest rooms. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlottetown wifi speed was decent and I had no issues using it.
There is a small fitness center
Guest laundry is available at a cost
There is not a separate business center – instead, there are 2 computers and printers available in the lobby

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlottetown does have complimentary parking, which was plentiful. They also had a few spots set up for electric vehicle charging.

Breakfast is complimentary at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlottetown – it’s served in a breakfast area right off the lobby.
There were a few hot dishes available (eggs, sausage, etc)
But sadly they were all out of Holiday Inn Express cinnamon rolls 🙁
There is a market near the front desk with overpriced food and other sundries

The Bottom Line – Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlottetown review
If you are looking for a cheap Charlottetown hotel, I thought that the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlottetown had several things going for it. It was very easy to get to from the highway, and the price was decent. I think the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlottetown could be a great option if you’re looking for a hotel in Charlottetown or convenient to the Anne of Green Gables or other sites on Prince Edward Island.
