In 2026, while visiting my parents on the west side of Cleveland, I stayed two nights at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria Ohio. This Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria hotel review will give an idea of the different amenities and features of the hotel and hopefully help you decide if you want to stay here if you’re looking for a Elyria Ohio hotel.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria Ohio location and city pronunciation

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria Ohio is located at 645 Griswold Road Elyria, OH 44035. It’s located right off of Ohio 57, very convenient to both Interstate 90 and Interstate 80 (the Ohio Turnpike). It’s about a 30 minute drive from Downtown Cleveland and CLE airport.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria cost

We were looking for a cheap Elyria hotel, but didn’t want to stay in the absolute cheapest hotel out there. I was there 2 nights – I used one free night certificate and paid 32,000 IHG points for the 2nd night. The cash cost was around $190 per night after taxes, so it was a bit under the baseline of 0.5 cents per IHG point.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria Ohio hotel review – room

We booked a 2 queen room. The beds and pillows were comfortable enough.

Here is the other side of the room, with a desk and TV

The bathroom was small but functional. The shower had good temperature and pressure.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria Ohio wifi and amenities

Wifi is complimentary in the lobby and in the guest rooms. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria Ohio wifi speed was decent and I had no issues using it.

There is a small fitness center

As well as an indoor pool

There isn’t a separate business center, but instead there is a computer and printer in the lobby.

Laundry facilities are available for a cost

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria does have complimentary parking, which was plentiful.

Breakfast is complimentary at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria – it’s served in a breakfast area right off the lobby.

There were several hot dishes, which I assume are rotated each day.

Unlike some of the basic hotels I’ve been at recently, there were several hot items and not just 1 or 2 – they had eggs, bacon, sausage AND biscuits.

And of course Holiday Inn Express cinnamon rolls!

The Bottom Line – Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria Ohio review

If you are looking for a cheap Elyria Ohio hotel or a hotel on the west side of Cleveland, I thought that the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria had several things going for it. It was very easy to get to from the highway, and the price was decent. I think the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria Ohio could be a great option if you’re looking for a hotel near Elyria or west Cleveland.
