If you’re a miles and points person like me, then you take your points where you can get them. Currently, hotel brand IHG is giving people 500 IHG One Rewards points basically for downloading their app and logging in.
How To Get 500 IHG Points
Keep in mind that you do have to register for the promotion first. So this is a 3 step process
- Register for the offer
- Download the IHG mobile app
- Sign in at lease once
That should be it. 500 IHG points are not worth much (around $2 to $2.50), but every little bit helps

- *To participate in the “App Download Bonus Offer” promotion (the “Promotion”), an individual must have an active valid IHG One Rewards member account. The member must first register their member number or email associated with their IHG One Rewards account to be eligible for the Promotion. Once a member has registered, the member can earn 500 IHG One Rewards bonus points after downloading the IHG app and using the app to sign in to their IHG One Rewards account. Registration and completion of the download and sign-in must occur by 30 June 2024, subject to IHG’s right to end the registration period sooner if deemed necessary by IHG because of irregularities or other issues relating to the Promotion. If registration for the Promotion has been closed or deactivated, it means the Promotion has ended
- This promotional offer can only be redeemed once per member, and a maximum of 500 IHG One Rewards bonus points can be achieved. The time needed for awarding points can vary with each promotion, so please allow up to 6 weeks for the bonus points to be posted to the recipient’s member account. The Promotion is valid for first time app downloads only.
- A member’s participation in the IHG One Rewards programme and this Offer are subject to the standard IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions, which can be obtained here or by visiting ihgonerewards.com. The bonus points awarded through this Offer are not Elite status qualifying.
- IHG may withdraw points from a member’s account if they were deposited into the member’s account in error and may revoke all points in a member’s account if the member abuses the IHG One Rewards programme, including but not limited to abuse of the point redemption process. This exclusive promotional offer is valid only for the original recipient who was invited to participate in the Promotion and cannot be transferred or conveyed. Members must make any promotional enquiries within 60 days of the date they registered for the Promotion. Members who are invited to participate in this Promotion may also participate in other IHG offers or promotions to the extent they qualify for such other offers or promotions.
