It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Plastiq.  First, they lost the ability to have people pay their mortgages with Visa.  Then, the Citi AT&T Access More card announced that they would now only be giving 1X (instead of 3X) on payments with Plastiq.  I had some problems a few months ago with Plastiq not making my mortgage payment, but that seems to have been resolved.

Now it seems like Plastiq may be stepping up checks on payments that people make.  I don’t know if they’ve seen an uptick in “fake” payments, but my last 4 payments have all received email notices that Plastiq needs more info before they can process the payment

Plastiq delaying my payments

For my last 4 payments, shortly after making the payment, I get an email that looks something like this

These are all people that I have paid several times before with no problems.  I’ve managed to get all of these resolved but the process has taken several days, which has been very irritating and frustrating.

Has anyone else experienced these delays?  I reached out to my media contact at Plastiq for any comment on why it seems like these checks are becoming much more frequent, but I did not hear anything back.
