Here is the basic terms of the bonus offer:
- Minimum transfer is 1,000 Membership Rewards points.
- Redeem for this exclusive offer from 12:00 a.m. MT on September 15, 2018 to 11:59 p.m. MT on November 15, 2018, to receive 40% additional Avios.
- Additional Avios will be awarded at the time of transfer.
The 40% bonus makes it a 1 to 1.4 transfer from Membership Rewards to Avios. Because none of the 3 of these are US-based airlines, there is no excise fee to have to pay. Avios can be a sweet spot for traveling on a distance based schedule. While it’s not as good as the days when you could fly short-haul flights in the US for only 4500 Avios, you can still get quite a bit of value from either flying British Airways for 7500 Avios or using Iberia Avios
