My wife and I were running our errands last night when this email from Simon Mall dropped in my mailbox. We have a nearby Simon Mall where we live, a factory outlet so I had to check out the deal.

Not only for this $25 Simon Gift Card offer, but being a VIP Shopper at Simon gets you access to many discounts reserved for VIP Shoppers only. The coupons or discounts change during the year. There are hundreds of stores at the factory outlets. All you need to show at the Mall Office whenever you visit your nearest Simon Mall Outlet is your cell phone proving you’re a VIP Shopper. You will be given a coupon pamphlet.

I went to the Merrimack Outlets to do this deal. Arrived a few minutes after their 10:00 am opening and the line was already a couple of hours long. We didn’t wait, but we checked back an hour later and it was even worse. You would think that they would have had extra registers and staff. No such luck. Just a warning to everyone — it felt like a bait and switch. No feasible way to get the gift card, but all those extra customers visiting the outlets. I made a point of leaving without buying anything. I didn’t want to reward that kind of behavior.
Yeah, for $25, not worth the wait for something that long. There were 3 of us who received the email and we waited under an hour and got $75. I would not have stood in line for just one card at $25.

Good to know. My Simon Outlet made it specifically clear that they reviewed the email and checked for the name of the outlet on the email.
And having said that, it’s a good thing to call and check if your nearest Simon is part of the promo. My local outlet was taking calls and helping people at the same time.
I am not sure how many people realize this, but from looking at other boards I don’t think many do.
You do not have to use this at the Mall. It is usable anywhere Amex is excepted. So pretty good deal. I stood in line for 5 mins and it took me 15mins to drive there. So well worth my time to get this.
