This news has been reported before (@MilesToMemories, @DrOfCredit), but it’s worth another look since this benefit is going away within the next 10 days.

If you have a Chase Ink card, you probably got this letter in the mail recently

a letter to a person

It just seems like I keep getting bad credit card news in the mail lately (SEE ALSO: The Credit Card offer I did NOT want to see!).

Lounge Club benefit of the Chase Ink card

The Chase Ink card is a great card to have for a variety of reasons (mostly for the 5x points at office supply stores), but one other nice benefit that I’ve used is the fact that it gives 2 free lounge visits per year (though I believe Chase had just dropped that to be first-year only).

We used the Lounge Club benefit on a recent layover in Atlanta – here’s our review.

There’s even a Lounge Club coming to my home airport of CVG!  Make sure and check out our tutorial about how to use the LoungeClub benefit of your Chase Ink card to get into airport lounges for free.  Most important to know is that you can’t just flash your Chase Ink card at the lounge door – you need to specifically sign up with the Lounge Club and you’ll get a

Lounge Club benefit going away

As you can see by the letter I got in the mail, the Lounge Club benefit of the Chase Ink card is going away as of April 30th.

In the meantime, you can sign up at the Lounge club website, using promo code “CHASEINK”.  If you have a Chase Ink card, there’s really no reason NOT to sign up.  You’ll get your first 2 visits free, and after that it’s $27 a person, which is more than I’d want to pay, but less than the walkup price at most airport lounges.

Authorized users can also sign up for their own access (aka another 2 free visits).

Asking Chase for compensation

One of the commenters on the Doctor of Credit post reported getting 5000 Ultimate Rewards points for asking Chase for compensation for losing the Lounge club benefit.

I think it’s certainly worth doing though of course YMMV.  I have emailed Chase but so far we are still…. “in negotiations” 😀

Have you signed up for the Lounge Club yet?  If not, what are you waiting for?
