These packages have been available for the last couple years, though I’m not sure I’m going to bite on this. This year’s release is the same as last year, with 835 packages of 10,000 points available. Remember, if you’re wanting to buy this, deals go live at 1pm ET.

Thoughts
There’s definitely value to be had with Best Western, but the cash rates at their hotels are often quite low. Couple this with their lack of published award chart, and variable redemption rates at anywhere between 8,000 to 36,000 points per night, and you could easily find yourself holding the negative end of the stick. I don’t stay often at Best Western hotels, though Dan Miller did in Indianapolis and had a decent time, despite his nearly-impossible-to-achieve success with their best rate guarantee.

This is jumping the gun a bit but we need a blogger to look at the Hertz deal next week. Hertz just implemented one of the biggest devaluations I’ve ever seen (awards costs increased 50-67% across the board). The deal for next week is now completely inaccurate and misleading in its description (not their fault – Hertz did this completely underhandedly). As example, the 16,500 rewards now costs 25,000. The 13,200 reward doesn’t even exist as weekend rewards were eliminated.

Will do – just wanted to make sure you take a look at the devaluation that was put into place AFTER the Getaway was posted since the description on the Getaway site is very incorrect now. Curious to see if they change it since you cannot get what it advertises for the points they’re selling.
