Last week, I posted about our surprise trip to Disney World.  We had spent weeks trying to pack things secretly and didn’t even tell our kids that we were going ANYWHERE, much less that we were doing a Disney World surprise vacation.  I personally enjoy coming up with how to surprise someone on a trip – I even made my wife guess where we were going on a surprise trip to Puerto Rico a few years ago.

For our surprise trip to Disney, we decided we would do a reveal for our kids. The surprise trip announcement went great!

Our Disney surprise trip reveal

After looking through some of the different Disney surprise ideas, we decided to not do anything super complicated.  I wondered how to surprise kids with a Disney trip, and just decided to come home a little bit early from work on a Wednesday afternoon and when the kids got off the bus, we brought them inside for a family “meeting”

There are many ways how to reveal a surprise trip – I had prepared a Disney World puzzle with 6 pieces – I tried to cut them out so one piece wouldn’t give it away, and then hid them in each of the kids’ rooms

Then it was time for the big Disney World surprise vacation reveal.  Naturally we captured it on video

Here is our going to Disney video

I’ll say that out of the 6 kids that we gave a surprise trip to Disney World, we had 2 super excited, 2 that didn’t seem to really know what was going on, and 2 who didn’t like the whole “surprise trip” thing.

Contrast this surprise vacation to Disney World with a video of my daughter from 5 years ago

5 years later, this is the same daughter that you can hear screaming her head off when she finds out that she is going to Disney World!
