In early 2024, we went on a trip to London and Paris with my wife and I and two of our kids. While we stayed our first 2 nights in Paris at the Marriott Courtyard Paris Gare de Lyon, we decided to book 1 night out near the Paris airport. I looked at a few different Paris airport hotel options and eventually decided to book the Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport. This Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport review will give an idea of the different amenities and features and hopefully help you decide if you want to stay here if you’re looking for a Paris airport hotel.

2024 London / Paris Trip

Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport location

The Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport is located at 5 Rue du Voyageur, Roissy-en-France, 95700 France. This is in the Paris suburb / exurb of Roissy-en-France, a good 40 kilometers or so from the Paris city center. There are a variety of ways to get from the city center of Paris out to CDG. We took Bus 351, which was definitely the cheapest way to get there (2.15 Euros per person) but probably not the best. Bus 351 lets you off outside the airport. You need to go INSIDE the airport and follow the signs for the CDGVal free intra-terminal shuttle. If you’re already at the airport then this will be easier.

Once you’re on the CDGVal shuttle, just take it to Parking Area PR..

Once you get to Parking Area PR, simply follow the signs to the Holiday Inn Express – it’s about a 400 meter walk and it’s covered for the vast majority of that walk.

Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport cost

Cash prices at the Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport range anywhere from $100 to $200 or more, depending on what is going on. Unlike the Holiday Inn Express London Hammersmith, where we had stayed earlier on this trip, the Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport did not offer family rooms – instead we booked 2 separate rooms. We used the free night certificates from the IHG credit cards but the points cost was 28,000 points per night.

After our original flight home was cancelled, we came back to the Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport and booked a room for $174.61. That gives a cost per point of $0.62, which is about in line with how much IHG points are worth.

You can check prices for your nights at the Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport at HotelsCombined or Hotels.com. You can also read Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport reviews at TripAdvisor.

Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport review – room

We had reserved two rooms at the Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport. We asked for connecting rooms. At first they said they didn’t have connecting rooms, but then they did, except that we ran into a…. slight problem when we went up to our room.

The second night we were there, after our flight was cancelled, we did have connecting rooms, with one queen bed and two twin beds in the other room. Here is the room with the 2 Twin beds.

And the 1 Double Bed.

There was a TV on the wall as well as a small sitting area in the room with the 1 Double bed.

Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport wifi and amenities

Wifi is complimentary in the lobby and in the guest rooms for IHG members. The Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport wifi speed was quite good.

As you can imagine, nobody in my family had any trouble doing anything on the Internet while we were there. There is no Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport pool, but there is a fitness center

a group of treadmills in a gym

a exercise bike in a room

Not really an amenity but the lobby was quite spacious.

There is a bar off to the side of the lobby where you can get food and drinks. We got a drink there when they gave us some complimentary drink coupons the 2nd night (I think they felt sorry for us that we were there again after our flight was cancelled)

a bar with bottles and glasses

There was even a “secret” room around the corner from the bar

a room with chairs and a lamp

One amenity that seemed pretty useless is that they do offer an airport shuttle for 8 Euros per person. This seemed quite ridiculous when you could walk 400 meters (or 3 minutes) for free.

Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport hotel review – parking

The Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport parking is directly attached to the hotel and is 25 Euros per day. Unless you live in Paris or France, I wouldn’t recommend coming here with a car, as public transportation options to get to the area are quite plentiful.

Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport food

When we arrived at the Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport, they were serving dinner. I got my hopes up a little bit that this would be one of the hotels that serve free dinner, but alas, it was 27 Euros per person. (Umm… no thanks)

In the morning, there is a Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport breakfast. The food is similar to what you would expect at other European hotels, including a selection of meats

And cheeses

a buffet line with food in it

And breads

There was even a yogurt machine, which is not something I’ve seen very often.

The breakfast seating area was quite expansive

And they even had a couple of high chairs which again, are not something I’ve seen very often.

The Bottom Line – Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport hotel review

Overall this was a good stay if you need to stay in Paris near CDG airport. The room was small by American standards, but still not a problem. The water pressure in the bathroom was great in the shower and the breakfast was exactly as expected. It’s a great deal on IHG points as well, so it can be a great option if you’re looking for a Paris airport hotel.
